Labs and Facilities
Departmental Laboratories
Basic Electrical Engg. Lab: The use of electricity is indispensable in every sphere of modern day-to-day life. Since there is hardly any field in which electrical engineering is not applicable. To understand the electric systems are the need of the hour for todays Engineers, therefore this lab is compulsory for students of every branch. The lab is designed to cover course contents of University, in which the basics of electrical engineering are emphasized.

Electrical Machines Lab: This lab is intended to provide students, the basic knowledge and practical understanding of the construction, and operation of electromechanical devices. Students learn basic electrical safety requirements and techniques for measuring current, voltage, and active, reactive and apparent powers for three-phase symmetrical and unsymmetrical loading. Students learn and understand testing procedures of electrical machines.

Electronic Devices & Network Lab: The lab provides the foundation of electronics engineering. This lab aims at providing students the knowledge about various electronic devices. Students are made familiar with electronic circuits and their intended use in various applications.
Electrical Measurements & Measuring & Instrumentation Lab: This lab helps to gain an understanding of measurement and instrumentation i.e. correct handling of significant figures and uncertainties while dealing with instrumentation systems. This lab has all the necessary equipments to cover the course contents of University.

Digital Electronics Lab: This lab is intended to explore the properties of digital circuits, including noise margins, propagation delay times, and aspects of integrated circuit realization.
Applied Electronics Lab: In order to mould youth into world class technocrats of tomorrow, this lab provides the excellent practical knowledge to the students regarding the basics of electronics.
Microprocessor Lab:: These two form the heart of any processing device as computer, mobile phones, PDA etc. The lab is intended to make the students learn the architecture, programming and interfacing of these devices. The lab lays down a strong foundation on which the students develop the projects. We have a Xeltek universal programmer to program the ICs.

Object Oriented Programming Lab: This is the era of programmable devices. To develop the programming skills of students, this lab has been established. In this lab students master programming techniques based on the object oriented approach.

Software Lab:: Today is the scenario of computer knowledge and programming, so this lab is introduced in the electrical engineering curriculum to make the electrical engineers even good and skilled software developer with their core engineering knowledge.
Control & Instrumentation Lab: The purpose of this lab is to provide an insight into the control applications. The lab is so designed as to make the students understand and visualize how the output of a system can be controlled by varying certain parameters. The lab is fully equipped to demonstrate various control principles such as how the speed of ac & dc motors can be controlled, how the angle of a shaft can be varied from a remote end, how the load current can be controlled by a small control current and still maintaining the isolation etc.

Power Electronics Lab: Power electronics is interdisciplinary in nature & is used in a variety of industries. To make students familiar with the various devices used in the industry, this lab is of great help. The lab provides opportunity to explore the characteristics of various devices and learn their use in sophisticated devices.

Power System Lab:
The purpose of this lab is to study the transmission lines behavior at different faults conditions by calculating its parameters, operating characteristic of under voltage and over voltage relays are studied. Testing of breakdown strength of transformer oil to know its dielectric strength. This lab has all the necessary equipments to perform experiments as per requirements.

Power System Design Lab:The purpose of this lab is to study generation techniques ranging from advances in conventional electromechanical method from various generation systems, transmission, spanning the broad area from UHV development to line routing and design, substation work: equipment design, protection and control systems, distribution techniques – underground installation and equipment development, the utilization area from energy conservation methods to distributed load leveling techniques and systems studies including control techniques and planning.
